Where Is Queen Village Philadelphia?
Queen Village is a historic neighborhood located in South Philadelphia, with a magnificent view of the waterfront. It is bordered by South Street to the north, the Delaware River to the south, the Amtrak rail tracks to the west, and the Schuylkill River to the east.

When it comes to transportation in and out of Queen Village, it’s hard to beat the nearby SEPTA Regional Rail station. Located near the intersection of 2nd Street and South Street, this station offers service to Center City, West Philly, and the University City Science Center.
You can also take SEPTA bus routes to get around the city, including bus routes 47, 57, 29 and 64. If you’re driving to and from Queen Village, you’ll probably use I-95 to the north. This is the best and most direct way to access the city from this neighborhood.

If you enjoy history, Queen Village has many stories to tell. Formerly known as Southwark, this area is Philadelphia’s first and oldest neighborhood making it a place rich in American history and culture. The nation's first permanent theatre, the Southwark, was located at the corner of Lithgow and South streets. And Gloria Dei Church, the oldest church in the state, is located at the corner of Swanson and Christian streets. Betsy Ross, the famous flag seamstress, was married here. On Front St, you’ll find many historical homes from the 18th and 19th centuries. And on the southeastern corner of Queen Village are one of the first shot towers in the US where ammunition was made for the War of 1812.
