It’s summer, which means there are lots of opportunities for so many different outdoor activities to take part in! One of our favorite things to do in Philly during the summer is to watch free movies outdoors! Whether you want to make it a date night under the stars or want to have a cute family picnic on the grass, there are a variety of options that can make this possible! Below are some of our suggestions for the best spots to catch an outdoor movie this summer!

PFS Drive in at The Navy Yard

Here you will find two screens fastened to shipping containers project new and classic movies on summer evenings at The Navy Yard! After purchasing your tickets ahead of time, you can over here with some snacks and some friends and enjoy a beautiful summer evening!

Movie Nights on the Schuylkill Banks

Enjoy nights of exciting  outdoor movie action right on the banks of the Schuylkill River during select Thursday nights this summer! The free movie screenings are held at various spots along the river, so stay up to date so you do not miss it! And of course, remember to bring your own snacks and drinks and obey the social distancing guidelines!

Wednesday Movie Nights at Sunset Social

Sunset Social hosts summer movies on the lawn of Cira Green, which is a beautiful and spacious park overlooking University City from 12 stories above! Movies are free, and guests can arrive starting at 5 p.m. to play lawn games, as well as purchase food and beverages, or can happily bring their own!
